Comments from an email on 8-1-11:

The celebration of my Dad's birthday would not be the same without everyone--staff and residents--knowing how much we appreciate the genuine caring and concern for my parents and how you all have contributed to their well-being.  We could not have asked for a better place for them to be, especially with all the transitions that have taken place since they arrived at Heritage.

We want to not only toast my Dad, but to raise our glasses to everyone at Heritage.  My parents, as well as all the Sheinman family, feel such gratitude in knowing that my parents are in the right place, treated with dignity and surrounded by such loving people.     Please share this with our appreciation.

Best,  Syl, Joe and their family

Comments regarding our Prom from a recent email:

Ellen,

......  I just got off of the phone with my mother and she was just SO HAPPY!!  When I asked how the prom went she excitedly blurted out, “FANTASTIC!”  The excitement in her voice was music to my ears.  I can’t thank you and your staff enough.  Heritage always does a wonderful job for events and activities, but somehow, this event was something truly special AND it happened on my mother’s Birthday!!

What more could we ask for?.......

I can’t tell you how happy and relieved I am to have my mother at your facility. Everyone has been just wonderful.  From the moment I crossed the threshold when looking for a facility for her till today, I have had nothing but admiration and respect for Heritage and you know I’m a tough audience with my career in healthcare administration.....................

Thank you for all you do and kudos for championing such a wonderful event as this prom.  Please extend my thanks to one and all.

Best,

Sandy Hewitt

" I want to express my deepest gratitude for the care, understanding and support you provided my mother. Her residency at Heritage was longer than normal. I know part of this was due to your detailed, patient understanding, the loving staff, your personal care and the peacefully calm surroundings. I always felt secure in knowing my mother was in loving hands!! I cannot thank you enough for her 5 years with you.

Fondly,

Comments regarding our Memory Care Program from a recent email:
“Theresa, our nurse, shared with me her positive thoughts about your program. She thought your patients were involved in a wonderful caring atmosphere. Your staff was interested in adapting to the care needs dying residents, which is not always the case. Theresa was so impressed, she went out of her way to tell me.”

“Ellie and I also think mom is doing very well. She told my sister that although she loved (former assisted living residence), she thinks she is happier at Heritage. It just confirmed for Ellie and me that we certainly did the right thing by having her move to Heritage. What a blessing that we found you!”

Carolyn (Daughter of resident)

“I just want you to know who happy I am that you have wonderful people like Liz and Mary helping our Mom during times like these. Please tell them what a wonderful job they are doing!”

K. FITZGERALD (Son of a resident in the memory program)

"My mother has been living in the Homestead section at Heritage for about nine months. Immediately upon moving in, Mom felt safe and well cared for. As she grew used to her new home, she participated in the many varied and interesting activities and began to make new friends.

The small, home-like scale of her "neighborhood" made adjusting to new routines and spaces easier than a larger place might have been. The staff are expert, friendly, and very kind. Mom receives the best possible care. I am very, very appreciative to everyone at Heritage for all they do for my mother and me. From our first tour to today, I have been totally satisfied by the level of care my mother is receiving. Now that I do not worry about her, I am again free to enjoy the delightful person my mother is."

Daughter of a Homestead resident

"This is working out so well; you were so right. I know my day is so filled up, but I know that my mom's day is also filled up until I can get over to see her."

Marilyn Machkowsky

"I couldn't be happier with my mother at Homestead. I know she's happy and well cared for."

Steve Burke

"The move went very well with the helpful strategies provided by the program director. We felt comfortable enough to continue a planned business trip out of the country shortly after move in"

The Gilbert Family

"I can not tell you how pleased I was to visit Mary on Saturday and to see her in the most animated conversation. I have not seen her so exuberant in years."

Susan L'Italien

"This is a beautiful building, BUT that is not what's most important. The most important thing is the staff and how they treat us. You won't find any place like this and you are lucky to get in."

Anita Karp, Resident
