Special Features of Homestead at Heritage
The program direction is orchestrated by a professional
trained in providing comprehensive care for individuals with memory impairments.
A ratio of 1 staff person to every 7 residents
is provided sixteen hours of the day. One staff person per neighborhood
of 6 to ten residents is provided during the night hours, and this is
continuously evaluated.
Staff are specially selected and trained... Staff
members receive a 12 hour Alzheimer's training program that was designed
by the Alzheimer's Association.
A resident's daily program consists of 12 hours
of structured life participation activities, developed by the Director
of the Homestead Program. These include, but are not limited to, leisure,
spiritual, social, personal care, and educational occurrences.
