Independent / Classic / versus Memory Activities

The  Independent /Classic activities are specific to very independent residents. These range from bridge games to current event discussions, to Wii Bowling and trips to the symphony, art museums, restaurants and more. You can see this rich array on the monthly Classic activities calendar page.

In our Memory Care setting we keep residents engaged with specialized activitiesfrom morning to evening, 7 days per week. You can see the full range of activities on the Homestead monthly calendars page.

These specialized activities promote 8 goals:

                           -  Reduction of anxiety

                           -  Increasing feelings of support

                           -  Promotion of positive feelings

                           -  Creating feelings of success

                           -  Regulation of sleep / awake cycles

                           -  Decreasing feelings of confusion

                           -  Improving health & wellness

                           -  Maximizing independence
