Homestead at Heritage is a special program designed specifically for people
with Alzheimers disease and other progressive memory impairments.
Homestead allows residents to retain maximum independence through its award-winning
physical design.
There are no long halls or hospital-like corridors at Homestead. The
atmosphere is homey, free flowing and welcoming. All residents have access
to expansive outside walking and gardening areas, surrounded by rustic
stone walls and white picket fences. Every resident has a lifestyle plan
that addresses his or her physical, psychosocial, and activity needs.
These individualized plans are designed to foster self-esteem, independence,
and a sense of accomplishment. Our specially trained caregivers have a
clear understanding of memory disorders and how they affect our residents
and their families. They are keenly aware of each residents emotional
and physical needs and meet regularly with family members to share ideas
or concerns. They make every effort to make our residents feel safe, secure
and content.
