Heritage at Framingham, together with Mary Ann Morse Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center form a local non-profit which is
called Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Corp. A volunteer Board of Trustees oversees the direction of both of these high quality care settings.
Heritage at Framingham
Heritage at Framingham is an award winning assisted living community located in the northern part of Framingham call Nobscot. Heritage provides assisted living settings for two types of residents. One setting is for residents who need traditional assisted living. Another setting is specifically designed for residents needing memory care as a result of Alzheimer's disease or other form of dementia.
In 1996 Heritage was recognized by the National Council on Senior Housing as the best designed assisted living community in the United States. The "Gold Award" was given because of a variety of features including a ground breaking concept of neighborhoods. Also the neighborhoods are specifically tailored to the distinct needs of residents in the two settings:
- Classic Assisted Living
- Features allow for independence and individuality
- The setting is designed to encourage residents to engage in the community
- Activities use a variety of skills and meet a wide range of interests
- Memory Care "Homestead"
- This setting is designed to aid navigation
- Independence is fostered to match an individual's abilities
- Staffing is increased to provide support whenever needed
- A larger menu of activities is provided—all activities utilize long term memory to offset the gaps in short-term memory.
Each setting in the community has been uniquely designed for the needs of the particular residents served. No matter what setting, the environment is very homelike with a multitude of windows. The ambience is described as an inn or homelike with a wide variety of decor.
Mary Ann Morse Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Mary Ann Morse Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is an award winning facility, ranked in the top 1% of skilled nursing facilities in the United States . It has received outstanding ratings from the Department of Public Health and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Mary Ann Morse provides both long term care as well as short term rehabilitation stays. A current resident of Heritage will have a preference for a bed over the general public should there be a need.

Who Was MaryAnn Morse the Person?
In 1891, Mary Ann Morse left a generous bequest to establish the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick as a memorial to her late husband. A century later; the newly established Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was named in her honor.
